With an 18 year career history in broadcast television, Ricky has worked across the entire spectrum of pay and free TV platforms, from Europe to the Far East. More recently he has was involved with the development of programming strategy for BT’s long awaited VOD service.
His early career in entertainment started at the BBC where he rose through the ranks from film editing, content acquisition and business development. With a complete and comprehensive knowledge of intellectual property rights, distribution and channel programming, he has developed high level relationships with US studios and UK broadcasters as well as International content distributors.
Whilst his resume is extensive, samples of his key senior roles include: Director of Programming for TV3 Sweden, EVP of Programming for Orbit, CEO of ARA Programming & Distribution (Subsidiary of MBC) and Director of Programming BT (VOD) Nevis.
Ricky is used to dealing with large and complex negotiations especially in content related issues. His understanding of the emerging technologies especially VOD and the convergence opportunities for content owners and distributors is refreshing.
His past consultancy roles include channel development for Universal in Scandinavia and Compliance and Regulatory Advisor to BT Entertainment.
His core skills include content evaluation, acquisition / distribution strategy and negotiation, and content programming for Video on Demand and most television platforms.
